(More customer reviews)We have a vinyl in-ground pool. The sides meet the bottom in the shallow end at a near 90 degrees and the steps have box corners that meet the pool floor. Our first pool cleaner always hit the wall, then either got stuck or traveled along to the steps and then got stuck in the corners at the base of the steps. The backup valve thing kinda worked but only when the system was perfectly cleaned. The only way I could get the silly thing to work was to install a wheel on the front of the unit. That worked until the $70 wheel broke after a year. Ug.
I had all but given up hope until I found this system by POOLVERGNUEGEN. The unit does not have a backup valve and there is no inline filter to empty. I installed it according to their directions and it worked as advertised out of the box. It does not get stuck by any of the walls or by the steps like my old cleaner. It spins around just like the the company says it does. This thing is absolutely awesome! It is the most hassle free low maintenance pool cleaner I've ever found. I just cannot say enough about how amazing this thing is.
